It’s Wednesday, and what a beautiful day it is! So get outside, enjoy the sun, and partake in some of these events on the Wednesday Nightlife Rundown for March 10, 2010.

Hookah Anyone? – 10pm – O Lounge (1534 University Avenue): What better way to get past Hump Day than the use of a hookah? Well, you can do just that at O Lounge, where DJ Kast will be in charge of the music that sets the appropriate tone for your consumption of hookah-induced smoke. Of course, there will be more than just huffing and puffing going on at O Lounge tonight. There will be plenty of dancing and a lot of socializing, as you can imagine the presence of hookahs tends to make everyone a little chatty. Everyone is free all night long, so come as you please. But beware! Hookahs are in high demand!

Ludacris “Battle of the Sexes” Album Release Party – 10m
Pink
(527 West 27th Street): This is undoubtedly the event of the night. Ludacris is having his album release party here in the heart of the city, and he wants you to be there. Obviously, the music will be nothing but the best, with many of Ludacris’s new jams playing on the 1’s and 2’s. Of course, his album isn’t 6 hours long, so there will be plenty of other music played, including hip-hop, reggae and top-40 music. As for the crowd, you should expect nothing but the best. Pink is actually home to the VelvetList’s weekly Wednesday night party; thus, the typically classy VelvetList crowd will be in attendance. So dress correct, get a bounce in your step, say you’re on the Clubplanet guestlist, get in free and have one heck of a Hump Day celebration.

Live Set by Rev Run – 11:45pm
Tenjune
(26 Little W. 12th Street): “What you gonna do?” Well, if you don’t have any plans, how about stopping by Tenjune to check out a live set by the invulnerable Rev Run himself! He’s out promoting his music tonight and it should be a pretty good show for anyone looking for a blast from the past with a touch of the present. When Rev Run isn’t on the microphone, DJs Reach, Mel DeBarge and Alan Liao will hit the turntables, literally, spinning plenty of old school house music and feel-good 80’s tunes. The show is scheduled to start a little before midnight, but I would do my best to get there a little bit earlier so you can assure yourself entry, as well as a decent view.

Get Your Salsa On – 6pm
LQ Nightclub
(511 Lexington Avenue): Well, if you’re looking for something fun to do afterwork, how about getting your Salsa on the infamous LQ Nightclub on the East side. Amaryllis of Mambo TV fame will give free salsa dance lessons from 6-8. Also during that time, you can take part in a complimentary buffet, as well as a plethora of different drink specials. There is a $5 fee for ladies before 7pm, and guys get the iniquitous “reduced” tag, all on the Noche Latina guestlist.

Zombie (Theater) – 7pm
Lynch Theater
(899 10th Avenue): Check out the production of “Zombie” at the Lynch Theater at John Jay College tonight. This play is an adapted novella and features actress Carol Oates. For ticket information goto ticketcentral.com

Bravo Upfront Party – 6pm
Skylight Studios
(275 Hudson Street): You will have to find your way onto the guestlist for this one, but once you do, it will be well worth any social capital spent to get in. Bravo is having its upfront presentation today, and as you know, Bravo is one of the goto channels for upper class, diverse and unique individuals. That should equate to quite a fun party, and rarely has there been an event at Skylight in which things didn’t live up to the expectations.
