Sushi Samba - 87 7th Avenue, Manhattan

My dear, young, black professionals, I hope you enjoyed the start of the weekend yesterday. The weather should be a little warmer this Saturday, so we’re going to test one or two outdoor activities on you all in the Saturday Nightlife Rundown for April 10, 2010.

D’Or Saturdays – 10pm
D’Or
(204 West 55th Street): Your party may not start at D’Or, but this is sure enough where it needs to end. D’Or is keeping it crazy, sexy and cool this Saturday with their weekly event that is still ongoing and popping. Of course, that may have something to do with the open bar from 10pm to 11pm that gets the whole place jumping for the rest of the night. They aren’t letting just anyone get in on the free alcohol though, so come dressed to impress in order to take part in the off-the-wall dancing and the consumption of free libation at D’Or tonight.

Rogue Saturdays – 10pm
64 Rogue
(64 First Street): DJ Triple X will be spinning the 1’s and 2’s for a diverse crowd at 64 Rogue; keeping you warm throughout this slightly chilly weekend with beats so hot, you just might want to unclothe yourself. Okay, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but I promise you, the music will be off the chain. Even if the music and dancing don’t initiate your perspiration, maybe the free open bar from 10-11pm can get you in a sweat.

Dwyane Wade in the Building – 10pm
M2 Mansion
(530 West 28th Street): Expect this party to be swarming with youngsters—so if you aren’t prepared for a little rambunctious behavior, I suggest you stay away from this event. Besides, it might cost you $20 to get in the door; however, I doubt those who get in will wind up complaining. This party is maintaining a strict door, a fashionable dress code, and the music will be of urban nature throughout the duration of the night. Oh yea, that Dwyane Wade character is playing the New York Knicks at the Garden on Sunday, so it is quite believable that he and his crew will be in the building tonight—And yes, NBA players go out before games—get over it!

Get Down – 11pm
Star Lounge
(222 West 23rd Street): As usual, if you want to get into Star Lounge, you need to have your best duds on. And if you want to get in for free, you have to let them know you’re on Cinnamon’s guest list. Now that we have the parameters out of the way, let’s talk about the party! Star Lounge will be jumping under the Chelsea Hotel tonight as young, black professionals embark upon this quaint club in Chelsea. The music here is always great, and they give you options to choose from (Main Room & Latin Room). Also, we have frequented a “Cinnamon” promotion in the past, and believe you me, she doesn’t disappoint.

Above Manhattan – 10pm
Empire Hotel
(44 West 63rd Street): Live DJ, hip-hop music, black professionals dancing and wonderful views of the Manhattan skyline…what else do you need? Hopefully nothing, but in case you do, it’s all free of charge. Look I could sell you on the great people, wonderful service or even mention the vista of a view one last time, but I don’t need to promote the Empire Hotel—it will promote itself.

Booty Barbeque – 6pm
Brooklyn Fire Proof
(119 Ingraham Street, Brooklyn): How does free barbeque and beer sign? If you’re nodding your head yes, then you are our king of people. From 6-9pm, you get all the Colt 45 you can drink with a side whatever comes out of their never-ending BBQ pit. Will it be a strictly Black Oak Nights-style crowd? Certainly not. But the people at Brooklyn Fire Proof are good, entertaining and wholesome people with great service and lively, live music. RSVP at murdertronics@gmail.com before you go, because the all-you-can-eat barbeque is only being offered on a limited basis.

Brazilian House Music – 2pm to 7pm
Sushi Samba
(87 7th Avenue): First of all, if you have yet to go to Sushi Samba, get your butt over there as soon as possible. Naturally, there is no better time to go than today, when the house will be rocking Brazilian House Music on top of the restaurant’s beautiful rooftop. Every New York City socialite will be in the building, taking advantage of a late brunch menu and eclectic fusion cuisines. Then again, the people watching and liquor drinking will keep you just as entertained. RSVP by emailing max@pressplayevents.com, and get there ASAP, because their roof can only accommodate so many people.
