In relationship to everything else going on in New York City, the number of bars, nightclubs, lounges and restaurants catering to an upscale, black audience is not impressive at all.
Fortunately, a lack of quality does not mean there is a lack of quality out there. Sure, you have to search long and far to find that right place, where you feel comfortable, in your habitat and don’t feel like you’re settling for second place.
We are helping you with your search with our annual listing of the best “black” venues in New York City.
We are calling the series:
“Black Listed.”
In this series, BlackOakNights.com is listing only the best venues out there for young, black professionals. Of course, our opinion only means so much, so we encourage our readers and visitors to help us build and maintain these lists. So when you see a new list, feel free to email us, comment or talk to us directly, and let us know what venues on our lists you agree and disagree with. We will subsequently make changes, and hopefully that will make for the best, most conclusive listing of black bars, lounges, restaurants and venues on the internet.
So keep your eye out for our “Black Listed” posts. You can subscribe to our newsletter to make sure you get updates sent directly to your inbox, or you can subscribe to our RSS feed. You can also join our Facebook Fan Page or follow us on Twitter.
