Black Oak Nights – New York

Thanks for sticking with us this Summer. In our own haste, I know we didn’t come through everyday and that not every party we came across was the best event of the year. But we appreciate all of our readers for being so faithful, and we hope you will keep coming back this Fall! It was a great Summer of 2010, our viewership and email lists grew tremendously, and we expect the same from you and more from us in the months that follow.

There’s so much to do this weekend that it’s almost unfathomable to think I can give you the entire nightlife rundown for the three-day weekend. But I will give it a chance anyway. Here are Labor Day Weekend’s parties and events for young, black professionals in New York City.

Without so much as a thought, you should want to enjoy these last few days of summer, as the season unofficially ends with its culmination this Labor Day weekend. In states below the Mason-Dixon Line, summer has at least another month to go, but with the day already shortening, cool summer nights getting cooler, and the abundance of outdoor activities beginning to fade, New York City just wasn’t made for summer throughout September. We will do our best to make sure young, black professionals of New York City make the most of these last few days by listing the best nightclubs, rooftops and black events. HBO Movie Showing in Bryant Park

I hope you had a great weekend. Finally, we had a little reprieve from the heat, in which we could go outside for more than a couple of minutes and actually not melt. Young, black professionals of New York City were all over the place this past weekend; whether it was down in the Lower East Side at the ThreeKings party, or in midtown at an exclusive rooftop party on the West side, you all did me proud this weekend. Highbar, NYC

Monday is here and apparently so is the sun! It’s supposed to approach 92 degrees this Monday, which means it will feel more like 100 degrees, which probably means that you do not want anything to do with the outdoors today. Don’t worry. New York City Nightlife

Young, black professionals of New York City, it’s Monday and it’s the first weekday in August. I hope everyone had a great time at the nightclubs or wherever else you may have went this past weekend, because you know we love ending the month with a bang. However, while we are sorry to see July go, we are ready to enjoy the hell out of August! So let’s kick off the first Monday of the month with a party at Suzie Wong’s, a movie in midtown and one heck of an old school performance in Brooklyn!

Here’s to a little bit of a let down from this heat wave that we have been experiencing over the past couple of weeks. Monday is supposed to be a lot more eventful and a little less hot. HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival

Ah, it’s back to a full workweek this Monday, as we are set to enter the middle of July.
