It’s Tuesday in the big city, which means it is time to get over the Monday Morning blues and welcome the rest of the work week. Even though you have 4 days of work left, we will do our best to make those four days as pleasant as possible. Because as a young, black, professional living in New York City, you are owed a good time each and every night, and Black Oak Nights is here to provide you with the information to fulfill that debt. Here is your Tuesday Nightlife Rundown for October 26, 2010.

Hip-Hop Book Launch – 7pm
W. New York Times Square – 1567 Broadway, New York, NY

Mike Schreiber is one of the most revered photographers in the hip-hop industry. And when he wasn’t busy snapping photos for the likes of Rolling Stone and New York Magazine, he was keeping some of the goods for himself for his new book, set to be unveiled tonight during a private launch at the Living Room Bar in W. Times Square. There you will see an exhibit of all of Schreiber’s photos, as pictures and stills of Jay-Z, Lil Wayne and Eminem have been blown up into life size pieces of memorabilia. Schreiber will be there to sign copies of his books, and Ciroc will provide complimentary cocktails for everyone to get in the hip-hop mood.

Women’s Pitch Fest – 6pm
Whiskey Rebel Lounge – 129 Lexington Avenue, New York, NY

To all of my powerful, entrepreneurial, young, black, professional women out there, you need to be at Whiskey Rebel Lounge tonight! Tonight’s “Launch, Fund, Grow!” event for women will allow female entrepreneurs with an idea and a dream start the process of fulfilling their hopes and desires. This event gives women the opportunity to pitch their ideas to an abundance of like-minded professionals. Attendees will get the first chance to participate in the 2010 Holiday Extravaganza, where you can pitch your ideas to venture capitalists and the like. Luxurious Tuesdays – 5pm
Negril Village – 70 W. 3rd Street, New York, NY

For some of the best Caribbean food in the city, you have to go to Negril Village. For one of the best parties you will find on a Tuesday night in Manhattan, you need to go to Negril Village. And for absolutely the best Caribbean Rum Punch in all of New York, you need to go to Negril Village. So in case you haven’t figured it out yet, you need to get your butt over to Negril Village tonight, when a ton of young, black professionals embark upon this establishment like there is no tomorrow. Food and drink specials dominate the menu this Tuesday, and some of the sexiest, young, black professionals in the concrete jungle will dominate the dance floor as well. With DJ Snap running the music, you know this party is going to be off the chain. So don’t miss one of New York City’s premiere nightlife events, and get your behind over to Negril Village tonight!

Afterwork Tuesdays – 6pm
The Empire Hotel – 44 W. 63rd Street, New York, NY

If your Tuesday needs a little pick me up after a long day of working, then Empire Hotel knows exactly how to pick you up (literally). Come see New York City from a penthouse view, and take in the scenery of a city that, more and more, is becoming a place where young, black professionals are beginning to run the city. Tonight, nothing but The Empire Hotel will throw the soft stuff out the window (figuratively), as the DJ plays nothing but hip-hop, R&B and old school music on the 1’s and 2’s. Admission is free and the dress code is chic. That’s really all you need to know! See you there!

Ug! Comedy Show – 8pm
Mug Lounge – 448 E. 13th Street, New York, NY

If you’re looking for some random comedy on a Tuesday night (and who isn’t?), then Mug Lounge is your place. Tonight’s “Ug!” comedy show is guaranteed to be a good time, even if the comedians aren’t funny. First of all, there is no cover or drink requirement (that’s a relief!). However, if you do feel like a drink, it won’t cost you the same $15 it cost 99% of comedy clubs here in New York City. Instead, buy that rum and coke for just $4 (as are all well drinks), or grab a miller light, or any other beer, for just $3. However, drinking won’t be the only thing at Mug Lounge to ease your mind. Comedians Nikki Glaser, Will Johnson and Joe Pontillo are all pretty funny—and even if they aren’t, at least you don’t have to pay to see them!
