It’s Monday people! It’s the second Monday of the year. Only 50 more to go until New Year’s Eve. Black Oak Nights has a lot in store for the young, black professional this year, and we hope you will join us for the ride. You can start off by checking out any of the events on today’s rundown, and by friending us on Facebook as well. See you on the social networks!
Here is our Monday Nightlife Rundown for January 10, 2011.
Urban Mom Squad: Pizza-Making Class – 7pm
New York Vinters, 21 Warren Street, New York, NY
If you are a mother, and believe it or not, our readership has its share, then you may want to use this Monday to get out of the house and partake in some friendly, conversation and pizza-making with other urban moms like yourself. The Urban Mom Squad is frequently putting together social events and gatherings for mothers trying to make it in this city that caters more to singles and the non-child bearing than those of you who actually decide to grow up and create prosperity. Tonight’s event will allow you the opportunity to talk to like people while scarfing back a pizza creation of your own making. The event will run you $30, but you can check it out, past pictures and all, at the urbangirlsquad.com site.
NCAA Football National Championship Game – 8pm
1849, 183 Bleecker Street, New York, NY
If you are looking for a place to watch the soon-to-be erased from the history books Cam Cameron take on the oft-imprisoned Oregon Ducks in college football’s national championship game, than look no farther than 1849 in the heart of Greenwich Village. After all, this is college football, and there is nowhere else in Manhattan with as many co-eds per square foot as there are in Greenwich Village. On Mondays, 1849 is always serving it up right with the specials, so you can get your fill of buffalo wings, well drinks, beer and fries for prices that will take you back to the days when pints at the campus bar were a mere 2-cents. Of course, you didn’t go to school in New York City if that was the case, but that’s neither here nor there.
Motion Mondays – 10pm
Promenade, 215 W. 28th Street, Manhattan, NY
I don’t know about you, but that weekend went by as fast as hell. Maybe it was all of the waiting I did between NFL playoff games. But I digress. If you need to extend your weekend pleasure, then get your booty over to Promenade tonight, where the weekend fun never stops, and neither do the booties. Dancing, prancing, gaming and talking will take place here from 10pm until the wee hours of the morning. Entry is free, so there is no need to rush your butt over. Take your time. chill-ax after work, put on that club outfit that you were going to save for this weekend, and get the strutting over at Promenade tonight, where plenty of young, black professionals will be in the building and on the dance floor, for what should be the best Monday night party of the year to-date!
Harlow’s Hide-a-way – 8:30pm
Crash Mansion, 199 Bowery, New York, NY
So, we have saved this for last because if probably is of interest to only a select “half” of our audience. This risqué revue has been featured at numerous places across the New York City landscape, and tonight, Harlow brings her cast of seductive characters to Crash Mansion, where elevated stages, intense lighting and a classy clientele add up for one heck of night in the Lower East Side.
