Sushi & Sake 101 Classes – 7pm
Sushi Samba, 87 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY
From their mouth, to your ears, Sushi Samba, one of New York City’s best places for sushi, is teaching you the Japanese art of the sushi and sake dinner. In these classes, you will learn about the different kinds of sake, use specialty sushi-making tools, learn from Sushi Samba’s own lead chef, and of course, eat and drink throughout the entire night. So if you are down for the sushi, sake and making your own tempura and sashimi, then this is the event for you. It is a bit pricey at $85 per person, but you won’t have more fun at dinner than you will with this class. So get friends, come hungry and be ready for Sushi & Sake 101.
MTV Made Viewing Party – 6pm
The Soho Room, 203 Spring Street, New York, NY
If you routinely watch MTV, and what young, black professional doesn’t (wink, wink), then you know about Abiola Abrams, the infamous teen dating coach on cable television. Of course, her skills extend beyond teen dating, as she knows how to get adults in the right frame of mind when it comes to courting and being courted, especially in New York City. So swing through the Soho Room and check out what she has to say this Monday night. In the process, you will get to play dating games and get a hold of free cupcakes while drinking the evening way. Also, as the title denotes, MTV will air a screening of MTV’s Made at the Soho Room, and one can only guess what this one is about.

Instead, Wine Director Eric Blair will coach you through tastings of red and white grape wines from across the country. Negril Village is at again, with a night full of partying down in Greenwich. Take your early week frustrations out on the dance floor, as DJ Snap delivers hip-hop and reggae music all night long. As if that weren’t enough reason to get you to leave work early this Tuesday, perhaps knowing that young, black professionals from across New York City have been making this a destination for years, and it really is an affair that every New Yorker should experience.
