Who says there aren’t any events out there for black singles?
Well, think again!
Republicans say the market caters to everyone’s needs, and while healthcare may not fit into the theory, it appears that the matchmaking market does.
Young, black professionals from all over New York City will descend upon People Lounge (163 Allen Street) in NYC to test the dating waters with New York Minute Dating on Thursday, March 25, 2010.
As the title suggests, this is a speed dating event. No need for the one-liners though. Just be genuine. The real key to speed dating is to ask a mix of “get to know you” and “funny” questions.
A good “get to know you” question is, “If we get into a fight, how would you settle it?” That’s a very open-ended question that is probably going to trigger a question from your interviewee, which should make for a quick, whimsical, but most importantly, memorable conversation.
A good “funny” question to ask is, “Do you kiss on the first date?” A lot of people would be worried about coming across the wrong way when asking a question like this, but really, if you make sure come across as insincere about this as possible, your speed date should want to play around with this question, whether it’s a man or a woman.
So, if you’re looking for love, I hope you’ll consider a little bit of our advice and check out NY Minute Speed Dating for young, single, black professionals this Thursday at People Lounge.
